The MCDU-R is a combination keyboard and a high-performance Liquid-Crystal Display (LCD) that allows pilots to interface with multiple systems within the cockpit.
Both the MCDU-1 and MCDU-2 entered service prior to 2008 and are facing significant component obsolescence issues. As a result, Honeywell® will be forced to end repairs of these two products in the near future. Upgrading your MCDU-1 or MCDU-2 to MCDU-R's will alleviate those obsolesce issues.
